DANIELS FUND COLLEGE PREP AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (FOUNDATION) Funded by the Daniels Fund to ensure college access and success for non-traditional students, the program seeks promising individuals whose academic performance has not necessarily reflected their potential. The program helps support those from an underserved segment of the service area populace, those potentially not able to attend or complete college due to a combination of non-traditional academic achievement, time lapse since completion of high school diploma or GED program or those with involvement in the justice system. Up to $4,000 per student per year will be awarded for students who demonstrate financial need; academic performance or promise; strength of character, evidence of leadership potential, and emotional maturity and stability; well rounded personality, abilities, and broad interests; and the potential to contribute to one's community later in life. Provided the student stays in good standing, the award is renewable annually until the student graduates. Criteria:
- Must be PELL eligible and a GED graduate. Funding received from federal, state, private, or institutional awards will be expended prior to use of the Daniels Opportunity Award funds, potentially decreasing the amount of Daniels funds needed for each student. Must be registered full time or equivalent with intent to earn a bachelor's degree. Up to $2,000/semester/student - Amount of scholarship is decreased by funding received from federal, state, or institutional awards.
