Student Success Story
Imelda Herrera
Imelda Herrera Imelda Herrera earned a Nurse Aide Certificate in spring of 2008 and completed a Health Science Technology Certificate (HST formerly Med Prep) in May 2009 at the same time that she received her high school diploma.  She is the first HST graduate from the MCC Burlington Center. She took two to four college courses each semester and graduated from high school with 54 college credits.  The dual credit program through Burlington High School allowed many of her credits to count for both high school and college, helping her achieve her goal.  Herrera’s next goal is to attend Colorado University at Colorado Springs and pursue a career in the medical field.
